In real life, Natalie McDonald was a young Canadian fan of the novels with a terminal illness, Leukemia. A friend of her mother’s wrote to J. K. Rowling to ask her to write to Natalie. J.K. Rowling did not receive the letter until after a vacation, and though she admits to fearing it was “too late”, wrote back, telling Natalie what happens to each of the main characters, only to find out from Natalie’s mother that she had passed away. The two women began a friendship, and Natalie was thus added to the books (into Gryffindor, the house of bravery), as a tribute. Her mother kept the contents of the letter secret until her other two children finished reading The Deathly Hallows.

Have you ever seen anything more amazing?! Conrad Maldives Rangali Island's unique underwater suite is actually the hotel's restaurant "Ithaa," which can been converted into a boudoir below the Indian Ocean in honor of its fifth anniversary. One night comes complete with Champagne breakfast and aquatic swim-bys from blue-striped snapper, sting rays, parrot fish, and moray eels. The tab is pretty steep, and you need to request the room at least 14 days in advance, but it certainly gives new meaning to the term "sleeping with the fishes."

Never judge a band by their first single. Or at least this one. I really dislike the song "Like a G6" by Far East Movement, and I think it's mainly because of the girl in the chorus who says 'like a G6' really annoyingly. To my surprise, she's just a featured artist in the song, and the Far East Movement is comprised of 4 Asian American guys from LA's Koreatown.

I heard this song on the radio and SHAZAMed it immediately, and lo and behold it was Far East Movement! Only this time, featuring one of my favorites, Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic. The song is called "Rocketeer" and I can't get enough!

Well, This is Disturbing.

In 2003, Florian Jenett and Valentin Beinroth placed about 50 handgun replicas in downtown Frankfurt. The guns were made from tinted ice, making them look real at first sight.
In 2009 they did a new edition of their Freeze! project but made the guns eatable edible by using coke, licorice, cherry and food coloring.

Two for the price of one today, folks! I recently found this version of OneRepublic's 'Come Home' featuring Sara Bareilles, which is excellent.

But as I was listening to it, I thought it sounded awfully familiar. Then I remembered I'm a creep.

Long story short, I saw the Spring Awakening tour in Boston 3 times, and became obsessed with it and the actors on the tour. Whilst on tour, the cast would do cabarets for charity. Here's a video of two cast members, Gabby and Ben (Gabby is a fellow Emerson alum!) singing a very similar version of 'Come Home'.



So which came first, the chicken on the egg??
