Nicki Minaj Being Cute...

with SMOKESHOW man candy around her. [note to self: don't ever say the phrase 'man candy' again.] This is my absolute fave song off her Pink Friday album, and surprisingly is a bonus track. Enjoy the Superbass!

This is a Katy Perry Post

Listen, I have no shame in saying that I love Katy Perry. Her Teenage Dream album is one of the best pop albums around [see: hummingbird heartbeat]. Here are a few gems from the candyland queen herself.

Do You Mind If We Watch You Hike?

In a continuation of my love for tv and my recent post about Dirty Sexy Money, I bring you one of the stars of that show, Blair Underwood, in a role you've never seen him in before. Hiker.

Never Looking at ATM Vestibules The Same Way Again

I saw my latest obsession, Donald Glover, live tweeting this the other night and could not believe it was actually happening. But it did. I he documented it. Along with some other creepy guy.

And now someone turned it into a gif. BRILLIANT.

#TeamConan (Prom Edition)

Even more reason to love this man.

Dear Nikki -

Thanks for your very flattering offer. It's great to know I have such a devoted fan out there, and I'm sure you ould make a great prom date (I didn't go to mine - it's a very sad story).

Unfortunately, I got married recently and my wife doesn't allow me to go to proms anymore with cute 16 year old girls. Still, it was very cool of you to ask me. Thanks and have a great evening.

Your Friend,

Conan

THIS IS BRAND NEW INFORMATION!!

I'd like to preface this by saying this is NOT the real cover to People en Espanol. It's just a cleverly photoshopped item from my fave bestweekever.tv blog. But i mean, it might as well be the cover of every magazine this week, let's be honest.

in related news, the 1999 version of me is probably a little upset by this information. i mean, he had a girlfriend AND had a song called "she bangs." what could be more straight than that?!

You're a Lemur! Now a Tiger!!

Vanity Fair recently featured Photographer Howard Schultz and his latest book, In Character: Actors Acting. He gave well-known actors 3 directions and captured their characters on film. Here are just a few awesome reactions.

AMY POEHLER
Left: You are sneaking a peek, in the middle of the night, at your sweet new boyfriend’s computer … and discovering e-mails to and from his three current “other” girlfriends. Center: You are a Park Avenue matron, paying your husband a surprise visit at his office and discovering him on the couch in flagrante delicto with his secretary. Right: You are a disoriented homeless woman being arrested for loitering.

MARISKA HARGITAY
Left: You’re a middle-aged woman at your mother’s hospital bedside as she hovers near death, remembering the quarrel you had with her when you were last together. Center: You’re a perky gal in your 20s whose boyfriend of two years has asked you to close your eyes because he has a very special surprise for you! Right: You’re a six-year-old at the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus for the first time, startled by a bang from a huge cannon and the sight of a sleek, silver-clad woman flying high above the crowd in an arc.

MICHAEL DOUGLAS
Left: You’re a man whose daughter has been missing for two months. You’ve been called in by the police to identify the body of a young murder victim. The sheet is pulled back … and the victim isn’t your daughter. Center: You’re a boy at a freakish carnival, watching a pierced performer munch live cockroaches. Right: You’re a 14-year-old girl who’s just opened her 18-year-old sister’s bedroom door to find her having sex with her boyfriend.

JOHN LEGUIZAMO
Left: You are a hostage in a desert prison camp, overhearing your buddy being tortured in the adjacent room, knowing you’re next. Center: You are a four-year-old boy at a new, “realistic” dinosaur theme park, getting a lick on the head from a 50-foot-long mechanical brontosaurus. Right: You are a heroin addict begging your dealer to give you a fix, promising you’ll pay him later, really.

Fashion Faux Pas

A couple of weeks ago, designer Jean Paul Gaultier had a 'boxing-inspired men's fashion show' in which all the models were made up to appear 'battered and bloody.' Jean Paul wasn't below going with the theme himself, although he should have thought about his appearance before agreeing to take this picture with Mr. Chris Brown himself. Or better yet, maybe Chris Brown shouldn't be a guy who beats up women.

#TeamConan

I'm sure you've heard by now all this insanity that's going on between NBC/Jay Leno/Conan O'Brien. After Conan's brilliant statement he released in response to this today, I would just like to take this time to show my support for the one and only Conan Christopher O'Brien (or 'Coco Christopher' as some may call him). I've been a fan for years now, even going so far back to my high school days when I'd stay up late and watch with my mother (which was weird, as my mom is oddly into random comedy like that), and get a kick out of every.single.time. he'd do the string dance. For years, I've been wanting to see him live, even as a certain friend said he was going to get my tickets to his Late Night show in NYC for my 21st birthday, yet it never happened (*ahem*). This past October, I was lucky enough to attend one of his tapings in LA, and he was just as funny as he was when I first started watching him back in the 2000s.

This being said, I know I fit into the category of young college(ish) student whose loyalty runs deep because of the nights I'd stay up late writing papers and watching his show, enjoying his sometime irreverent [see: Triumph the Insult Comic Dog], yet overall universally funny humor [see: telenovela parody -and my fave-Noches De Pasion Con Senor O'Brien] on his show every weeknight. But after 16 years of being in the 12:30am slot, it was about time he move up to the big league and join the names of Allen, Carson, and Leno. After all, Jay Leno did make the decision he was ending his run at The Tonight Show, clearing the path for Coco. Which brings me to my main beef with this entire situation. Jay Leno himself decided he wasn't going to renew his contract. But then he decided, hey, I am not funny enough to do anything else except play free stand up shows in Detroit, so I'ma retract what I said earlier and go back to NBC! But this time, I'm taking up the prime-time slots every weekday! Suck on that!

... Fail. Fail, fail, fail. Back when NBC announced that they would be giving Jay Leno a 10pm show Monday - Friday, even Boston Affiliate Channel 7 owner Ed Ansin (and Emerson alumni/he has his own building named after him) was all, 'eff that! horrible idea! you can't put Leno (ironically also emerson alumni) in prime time, that's not going to go well!' then he threatened to not show the Jay Leno show at all, and the head honchos at NBC were like 'well, we're going to take away it's NBC affiliation if you don't show jay leno!' ... flash forward to... well, now.

The bottom line here is that NBC hasn't been doing well for the past few years. NBC's attempt to keep the corporation afloat: keep the one constant hit in their late night block, Jay Leno. But the idea backfired. He's not getting the ratings they thought he would, especially if those ratings were supposed to be higher than the hour long dramas that used to fill that time slot. More importantly, Conan started his show 7 months ago. Jay Leno had almost 20 years! Conan and his entire crew moved their lives from NY to LA just for this one show that seemed like a sure shot. But yet again, corporate greed takes over integrity and class, which is why Conan's response to all this was perfect. It wasn't about who is to blame. It wasn't even about him. It was about the fact that the legacy of The Tonight Show is in the hands of these CEOs, as well as the future of the cast and crew of not only Conan but Jimmy Fallon as well. This effects way more than just Jay Leno.

Thankfully, I'm not the only one to think this, as when news broke out today of Conan's "letter to the people of earth," the interwebz went crazy. The top Twitter trending topics were all related this fiasco, and in Conan's favor. The hashtag "#TeamConan" ala Twilight came up everywhere. This amazing site: www.imwithcoco.com was made. Yet not a "#TeamJay" to be seen in sight. Maybe it's really your time to go, Jay. You'll always have your cars. And the 20 years on The Tonight Show. Let someone else have it for a change.

Shooby Doo Wop &Scooby Snacks

On my recent trip to LA, a lot of memorable times were had, but one in particular will always make the 15 year old me squeal as if it's the year 2000.

My friend Jolie's sister and friend told her that they were going to an LFO (yes, that 'Summer Girls' boy band LFO) concert in Boston. The kicker is that Jolie's friend's dad is LFO's lawyer. Because of this connection, Jolie's sister and friend got to hang out with LFO in their tour bus after the show! Earlier, Jolie had requested that they have lead singer, Rich Cronin [see inset] call her while they were hanging out in the tour bus.

And I got recorded the entire thing.
