The T-Pain App Is Just Not Enough

Thanks to Jimmy Kimmel, we finally have an idea if T-Pain ruled the world (with Prez Obama's help)...

Ballet Fantasies

Here are some awesome ballet photographs from Cade Martin. I want to move to where ever this is.

This last pic reminds me of SYTYCD season 3, with top 4 finalists Danny & Neil dancing to a Mia Michael's contemporary piece.

I Should Go To West Hollywood More

A) This cake looks incredibly delicious, particularly the blue layer, for some reason.

B) I love that fact that when I saw this, I was going to post it on my friend's wall. Then I thought of pretty much 10 other people who would appreciate this cake as much as I do, so I decided to post it here instead.

C) This is the actual caption to this picture: "This cake has fanned the flames, if you will, of my inner struggle between Gay and Fat. And Fat is winning. Pride Parade Food Fight 2010: it's coming."

Yo Homes, Smell Ya Lata

This really needs to happen on my Facebook. So take note friends, the next time a parent uses their child for a publicity stunt involving a metallic balloon, put your comedic comic parodies on my wall. Thanks.

For the Kid in All of Us

In honor of the 'Where The Wild Things Are' movie this weekend, here's something to make you wish you were a kid again.

Chief Henry is Rolling in His Grave

Yes, you're seeing that correctly. It's a Saved By The Bell PORN. I have ... SO many thoughts on this ... but it just occurred to me that in one sense, a SBTB porn totally makes sense. Thank about it. The people who watched this show as kids, like us, are now older and can actually appreciate that this program was never meant to be an Emmy award winning show. Some might see it as, oh Kelly Kapowski is all grown up, etc. etc. So in some twisted way, I think this is a brilliant idea. Plus, this show has always had a cult following, so I think people will just want to see this parody for all its ridiculousness. Exhibit A: The trailer.

My question is, will the following people be in this episode: Stacey Carosi, Mr. Carosi/voice of Pumbaa, or hot Jeff, Kelly's ex BF? And will they ever bring up Tori? Will Hot Sundae every come back? Are they going to incorporate Buddy Bands somehow? Guess I'll just have to find out for myself.

Pursuit of Happyness

AGREED.

(917): half the nation just spent an hour watching a balloon fly around. we are officially the dumbest fucking country.

Sad, yet true. But for the record, I want to say I knew something was up as soon as I saw that stupid balloon. This family is everything that's wrong with America.

Cash for Cupcakes

Ok, so if you haven't read my previous post on the "Big Top Cupcake," you should read it before you read this. Maybe that item won't seem as crazy after you've seen this (My thanks again to bestweekever.tv!).

Ladies and Gentlemen, I introduce to you the
$25,000 cupcake car!!
[THIS IS A REAL THING]

Straight from the NEIMAN-MARCUS CATALOG:

The Neiman Marcus provided description reads like bakery fan fiction. Slip this on and take a read:

Put on your matching hat, slip under the muffin top of your Cupcake Car, and let the world figure itself out for awhile. Get (or give) the sheer, joyful chaos of a gift that is mind-blowing, triple-dog-dare, double-infinity forever cool. Make the kids or grandkids literally squeal with joy. Bring it to work and buzz the breakroom. Crash parades! Putter about the ‘hood. Ever had a crowd of kids chasing after you just for the crazy gleeful heck of it? (No worries, the top speed is a comfy-safe 7 mph.) What’s it made of? A 24-volt electric motor, a heavy-duty battery, sheet metal, wire, fabric, wood…and mad genius. Launched at Burning ManSM as a cooperative art car project, the Cupcake Car sprang from the fevered mind of Bay Area artist Lisa Pongrace and her less-rules-more-laughs posse of artists and techno geeks. Yours will be tricked out with your favorite topping, so start thinking flavors.

Mine will be flavored like money with a faint hint of “What college loans?”

Good thing I saw this before I made my Christmas list. I was just going to ask for every single item in the Sky Mall catalog. But this? This is WAY better.

I can't tell you how many times i've thought this.

#Mileycomeback

So straight from Billy Ray Cyrus's twitter comes this explanation from Miley as to why she deleted her Twitter account. In the form of a rap.

Oh Miley, lately you've been making it so hard for me to like you :(

KTBSPA

If you know anything about me, you know that there is a soft spot in my heart for the Backstreet Boys. I have been a loyal fan since probably circa 1998, and will openly admit my love for them to anyone. That being said, this week was *supposed* to be one of the most epic weeks in my life, as their new CD, "This Is Us," came out on Tuesday. My plan, along with my fellow BSB fanfriend Dina, was to celebrate their new cd by making an entire week out of it. Seeing as how I'm unemployed, the plan was to have a listening party on Tuesday, try to get standby tickets to their performance on Ellen on Wednesday, skip their appearance on Conan on Thursday to go to their CD SIGNING AT THE HARD ROCK, then finally wrap it up with the mini concert at Jimmy Kimmel on Friday.

Please note the past tense used. Sometimes, things just don't go as planned.

On Monday, this came up on their Twitter: BRIAN LITTRELL DIAGNOSED WITH SWINE FLU ~ Full Article Here (Updated) http://bit.ly/fz3JR

Of course, this is HORRIBLE, and I felt incredibly bad for him, especially after he posted a video saying how sorry he was, yet he looked completely miserable. My second thought was CRAP. They cancelled their appearances in NY, including the cd signing, which was NOT a good sign for us here in LA. Then we got news that they canceled not only Ellen, but the cd signing here as well. I cannot even express how disappointed I was about the latter being canceled, as - I shit you not- the Backstreet Boys are the number people on my "Who I'd Like to Meet" list (Right under that is Lauren Graham, which I accomplished, so as soon as I meet BSB, I seriously can die happy). But of course, I just wanted Brian to not have swine flu anymore, because, I mean ... that sucks.

Anyways, their performances on Conan and Jimmy Kimmel were still on, so at least we got to go to those, which were AMAZING (I TOUCHED AJ'S CHEST FOR APPROX 10 SECONDS).

^kinda blurry cell phone pic from 2nd row @ jimmy kimmel, as we weren't allow to bring real cameras :\ ^

Shameless promotion, here are a few of my favorite songs from the new cd (out now!)

This Is Us

If you're still reading this, kudos, because there are probs A LOT of people who think this obsession is ridiculous (and even more so because it's the 'Backstreet Boys'), but they can suck it. I don't want to hear any comments like "Are they still around?" "What happened to Kevin?" "NSYNC IS BETTER" because I will ban you from my blog. FO REALZ.

BACKSTREET'S BACK, ALRIGHT. AND NOT GOING ANYWHERE.

Barn Chic

How awesome is this barn runway set up for the Chanel show?? One day I will be with you, Paris Fashion Week.

A Piece of Cake

I sure do love me some infomercials. And this one for the "Big Top Cup Cake" does NOT disappoint. My girl Michelle Collins from bestweekever.tv describes it best:

As far as the demise of this nation is concerned, pretty sure 00:53 of the infomercial explains it all, from the future diabetic obesity that these young child actors will experience, to the fact that they are the worst child actors we’ve ever seen around a giant cupcake. Not to mention the mom at the beginning, who is obviously manny-depressies and an alky. Then again, Big Top Cupcake with red wine center? Sign me up.

Ed. Note: A Big Cupcake = A Cake. Let’s not mix metaphors.

Y-O-U-R MEANS YOUR!

One of my biggest pet peeves, and a perfect example.

(919): Learn some fucking English or leave me alone! "Your" is for something that belongs to you, like 'your herpes'. And "you're" is a contraction for "you are", like "you're not sleeping with me".

Kids These Days

Before and After.

Disney 'Princes' Go Rogue!

WHY EVEN DO THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE??? Make sure there are no small children around you when you read this, for fear they will be scarred for life. Not promising that you won't be either.

Prince Eric - The Little Mer (Please note his tatt)

Hercules - Hercules (I appreciate that the stance is true to character)

Kocoum - Pocahontas (Not gonna lie, he's my fave. And I like singing that part in "Just Around the River Bend" that goes "should I marry Kokoum??")

John Smith - Pocahontas (The OTHER white meat HEY-O)

Last, but certainly not least (because he will threaten you if you disagree) Gaston - Beauty & The Beast

Sexy? Or disturbing? YOU DECIDE.

[much much MORE at da source]

Extra Storage

How awesome is this! But I feel like it would be uncomfy after approx 35 minutes.

On the 6

Much like the flash mob in Trafalgar Square I posted a while ago, this group of Improvisers, goes beyond the small comedy stage and goes out to the 'real world' to perform. They're called Improve Everywhere, and one of their latest jaunts was taking photographs of people on the NYC Subway. But, they did it their own way, Yearbook style.

MS Paint Should NOT Be An Option

Bestweekever.tv blogger Dan Hopper has recently pointed out that whoever is in charge of designing book covers recently has gotten REALLY lazy with them.

The first example is former Massachusetts Governor and Presidential Candidate, Mitt Romney's autobiography. Exhibit A (ACTUAL BOOK COVER):

Runners Up (NOT Real):

The following week, everyone's favorite 90's teen sitcom nerd, Samuel "Screech" Powers comes out with this little nugget:

Really, Screech, REALLY? Looks like you actually DID use MS Paint to make this. In fact I bet that picture was taken in your basement, posing for hours using self-timer in front of the leftover fabric from your hot jacket. And I'm pretty sure you stole that other picture from the cover of my Seasons 1&2 DVD of SBTB. Looks like Mr. Belding taught you NOTHING.

And if THAT wasn't enough, Tina's Fey's reason for winning that Emmy, Sarah Palin releases the cover of her book, "Going Rogue."(BTDubs, LOVES that title.)

Finally, Dan Hopper puts his photoshop skills to the test again, and really, I think is the best out of all these books.

Obviously NOBODY in America is going to read this book with a cover like this. Perhaps if she unzipped that fleece just a little more… but even that would be too little too late. There is still time, though, Sarah. The book isn’t out until November, so I took the liberty of making a few touch-ups that I think will better attract this country’s reading population:

(Il)legally Download This!

What up Emerson. Good lookin out for Boston, too.

An FB Conversation

My friend Molly and I have a serious problem. We sometimes do this thing where we find random people we went to high school with and judge them based on their current life choices. Recently, we came across the fact that one of our former classmates had changed their last name on the FB and their picture was a wedding photo. HOWEVER, the kicker was that Molly went to this girl's wedding a couple years ago TO A DIFFERENT GUY. NOT THE GUY IN THE PICTURE, AND NOT THE LAST NAME SHE NOW HAS. We had to investigate.

We couldn't come up with too much information, because she managed to de-friend us somehow (why on earth would she do that?!), so we decided to put our creative skills to the test. Here's a recent conversation we had about this possible divorce mystery.

Traci:
wow i'm impressed with your research skills, dougherty. let's make up their story until we have the facts.

"Butterball, being a young and naive freshman at Freedom College, met Barb and her husband at a mixer (bible study) on campus in fall of 2007. the three soon became friends, and would reenact scenes from LOtR on the weekends. One night, whilst Mr. St. Cloud was away at ComicCon, Barb and Butterball brushed hands during a routine light saber fight. Their eyes met and they continued to stare into each others' eyes lustfully, until Mr. St. Cloud came home early from ComicCon. Wearing a Captain America costume, Mr. St. Cloud caught Barb and Butterball making lusty eyes at each other and declared divorce upon Barb (kinda like michael scott in this scene
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuGIgf-ICHM). Barb ran after Mr. St. Cloud and tugged at his cape, begging him to not go. But alas, just like Captain America, Mr. St. Cloud disappeared forever, leaving Barb to commiserate in the arms of Butterball. The rest is history

Molly:
HAHAH! literally laughing out loud! LotR! ComiCon!
And making up a story until you have the facts is actually exactly what lawyers do. F'real.
So, according to FB Mr. Butterball went to HS in Canada. With that in mind, may I present my theory:

With RenFaire season in full swing, Mr. St. Cloud was working overtime in his smelting workshop, the sweat dripping from his brow to his rustic, burlap tunic. It isn't just that this was a big season for medieval-style swords and armor (though it was). Blinded by love, nose weakened by allergies, Mr. St. Cloud had not realized exactly who, or what, he was marrying. Now, he had grown disillusioned. Plaque grew heavy on Barb's gapped, snagly chiclet teeth. Her frizzy curls appeared wet with grease. Cystic acne covered her face, arms, and back. She smelled. St. Cloud dreaded his home life.

In the absence of her husband, Barb became ever-more involved in online roleplaying games. She spent all day looking forward to her chats and warcraft maneuvers with Butterball, a Canadian high school student. St. Cloud knew that, in the eyes of God, he was bound for life. So, he set to ironworking a renaissance style cross for the St. Cloud home. On their anniversary, St. C came home with his gift.

He was shocked to see Barb rocking in the fetal position, wrapped in a Canadian flag, watching Degrassi and rolling an eight-sided die. She would not even respond to St. Cloud. The wedding march blared from Barb's computer. On the monitor stood her WoW persona, Maiden Barb Fuzzybrow, at the altar with Butterballwyn the Brave! "Why can't it be real?" She cried.

St. Cloud threw down the iron cross, tears mingling with his own greasy hair and acne face. Within weeks, Barb was betrothed in both real AND virtual life. Cookie cakes abounded.

St. Cloud cannot hear "O Canada" without flying into a rage.

We're going to hell.

What The World Eats

Sometimes I do this thing where I go into the kitchen, open the fridge stand there and stare at my food then close the door. Then I walk over to the pantry and stare at my food there and close the door. Then I proceed to repeat these actions for about 5-8 minutes, sigh and decide I have nothing to eat then walk away still hungry. This article made me think twice about that bad habit I have.

Below is an excerpt from an article chronicling the way families eat in a typical week all over the world. It's surprising and not surprising all at the same time, how much say an average American household has compared to a family in the middle of Africa. Do we really need this much? Can we do something about this great difference just by eating less?

United States: The Revis Family

China – The Dong Family

Mexico – The Casales Family

Ecuador – The Ayme family
Mali – The Natomo Family
