From Ad to Frog
For anyone that has Netflix, you can understand the frustration of the excess paper that is the perforated advertisement. I feel like I always need to do something with it besides glance at the ad and throw it in the trash. Well some guy came up with a solution to this problem: Netflix origami! I attempted the shirt, didn't come out so hot, but the heart did! Sure beats making a crane all the time.

OH MY GOD JON HAMM I LOVE YOUR WORK!
I can't take credit for the following pix, a lot of users on ONTD posted them when the past season of Mad Men was on, but they resurfaced and I thought I'd share them with you. No spoilers, but just a warning that this would clearly be more entertaining if you are a Man Men viewer (and Mean Girls fan)!

The Reege and Pipa
Are these guys serious? How can you not get REGIS AND KELLY: DAYTIME TV TALK SHOW ROYALTY!?!

So You Want A Snuggie?
Now that you have the snuggie you always wanted as a Christmas present, maybe you should consider putting this on your list for next year. (And yes, this is a REAL thing. Thanks, Japan, as always.)

The Most Work You'll Ever Do For A Cupcake
So some lady decided she would make 100 cupcakes. If you're a PTA making these for a bake sale, this doesn't sound crazy at all. What is crazy is if you decide to have a Game theme, and each cupcake is decorated to be a different popular game. These are the results.

Is RZA Even Acting??
If you don't watch "Parks and Recreation," you should. Especially if you're a fan of "The Office" and shows of that ilk. I know the first season wasn't its best, but just like its sister tv show, "The Office" only had 6 episodes in the first season and not a lot of viewership. So give it a chance. Especially when you see which Wu-Tang member almost got the lead role of Leslie Knope instead of Amy Poehler...

What's Next For CoCo?
Well, porn of course. I seriously could not stop laughing at this. The porn industry will no doubt make one of these into a real movie.

'Traci Likes This'
Whether we realize it or not, Facebook has taken over our lives. At a recent reunion with old friends, we were discussing how FB effects how we react in certain situations. For example, if you meet a guy and he tells you to look him up on Facebook, you know you've got some research to do, and everything listed on there will determine if you contact him or not. Does he have a profile picture or is it just a silhouette of Mark Zuckerberg? Does he have favorite books listed, does he know what books are? And if you're a fan of "BOOBS!" a future together does not look likely.
Some FB nerds have taken it upon themselves to delve deeper into the intricacies of FB and how it translates into normal life. Such is that phenomenon called "The Post-Breakup Facebook Effect". How many times have you gone through your news feed only to see that someone is either now "In a Relationship," or "Single." The latter coming up on the news feed is even more horrific [read: entertaining] as people tend to respond to the recent happenings right there on the original poster's wall! Here are some entertaining P-B FB examples, and why I stand by the fact putting any kind of relationship on FB is a recipe for disaster.

NPH Can Do No Wrong
If you're a How I Met Your Mother fan, you've probably already seen this, but if you're not, maybe this video will get you to start watching! Last night was the show's 100th episode, and in honor to celebrate this momentous event, they incorporated a high energy, comical musical number into the show. And it's about suits. Yes, suits. Who knew something so bland could be so entertaining? Oh right, if Neil Patrick Harris does it, ANYTHING can be entertaining.
Thought: Dr. Horrible vs. Barney Stinson sing off?! YES OR YES?
Enjoy!

#TeamConan
I'm sure you've heard by now all this insanity that's going on between NBC/Jay Leno/Conan O'Brien. After Conan's brilliant statement he released in response to this today, I would just like to take this time to show my support for the one and only Conan Christopher O'Brien (or 'Coco Christopher' as some may call him). I've been a fan for years now, even going so far back to my high school days when I'd stay up late and watch with my mother (which was weird, as my mom is oddly into random comedy like that), and get a kick out of every.single.time. he'd do the string dance. For years, I've been wanting to see him live, even as a certain friend said he was going to get my tickets to his Late Night show in NYC for my 21st birthday, yet it never happened (*ahem*). This past October, I was lucky enough to attend one of his tapings in LA, and he was just as funny as he was when I first started watching him back in the 2000s.
This being said, I know I fit into the category of young college(ish) student whose loyalty runs deep because of the nights I'd stay up late writing papers and watching his show, enjoying his sometime irreverent [see: Triumph the Insult Comic Dog], yet overall universally funny humor [see: telenovela parody -and my fave-Noches De Pasion Con Senor O'Brien] on his show every weeknight. But after 16 years of being in the 12:30am slot, it was about time he move up to the big league and join the names of Allen, Carson, and Leno. After all, Jay Leno did make the decision he was ending his run at The Tonight Show, clearing the path for Coco. Which brings me to my main beef with this entire situation. Jay Leno himself decided he wasn't going to renew his contract. But then he decided, hey, I am not funny enough to do anything else except play free stand up shows in Detroit, so I'ma retract what I said earlier and go back to NBC! But this time, I'm taking up the prime-time slots every weekday! Suck on that!
... Fail. Fail, fail, fail. Back when NBC announced that they would be giving Jay Leno a 10pm show Monday - Friday, even Boston Affiliate Channel 7 owner Ed Ansin (and Emerson alumni/he has his own building named after him) was all, 'eff that! horrible idea! you can't put Leno (ironically also emerson alumni) in prime time, that's not going to go well!' then he threatened to not show the Jay Leno show at all, and the head honchos at NBC were like 'well, we're going to take away it's NBC affiliation if you don't show jay leno!' ... flash forward to... well, now.
The bottom line here is that NBC hasn't been doing well for the past few years. NBC's attempt to keep the corporation afloat: keep the one constant hit in their late night block, Jay Leno. But the idea backfired. He's not getting the ratings they thought he would, especially if those ratings were supposed to be higher than the hour long dramas that used to fill that time slot. More importantly, Conan started his show 7 months ago. Jay Leno had almost 20 years! Conan and his entire crew moved their lives from NY to LA just for this one show that seemed like a sure shot. But yet again, corporate greed takes over integrity and class, which is why Conan's response to all this was perfect. It wasn't about who is to blame. It wasn't even about him. It was about the fact that the legacy of The Tonight Show is in the hands of these CEOs, as well as the future of the cast and crew of not only Conan but Jimmy Fallon as well. This effects way more than just Jay Leno.
Thankfully, I'm not the only one to think this, as when news broke out today of Conan's "letter to the people of earth," the interwebz went crazy. The top Twitter trending topics were all related this fiasco, and in Conan's favor. The hashtag "#TeamConan" ala Twilight came up everywhere. This amazing site: www.imwithcoco.com was made. Yet not a "#TeamJay" to be seen in sight. Maybe it's really your time to go, Jay. You'll always have your cars. And the 20 years on The Tonight Show. Let someone else have it for a change.

First Rule of Fight Club:
1) You do not talk about fight club
Today, I had one more gift to buy: a copy of 'Fight Club'. I asked a person working at Best Buy if they had any in stock. The man wouldn't sell me the last copy because I had broken the first two rules. FML.

(Il)legally Download This
My second cousin recently had her "Debut" here in LA. The Debut is basically the Filipino version of the American Sweet Sixteen, or a better comparison is the Spanish culture's Quincenera. There legit was a choreographed waltz like a Quincenera and also a choreographed hip hop dance like on My Super Sweet Sixteen. Anyways, it was interesting to see what this was all about, and how it could have easily been me if my parents didn't throw me that awesome karaoke 16th bday party at a church. Just like a Quincenera, or better yet a wedding, there were party favors. Her party favor was a mix cd of all the songs she liked. I was seriously expecting a lot of emo music but to my surprise, there was only one emo-ish song and the rest were legit songs i already have on my itunes (Hall & Oats, Spice Girls, Michael Buble), or are completely welcome to be part of my itunes (Ego by Beyonce or Something Special by Usher)! this song was one of them, called "Brown Eyed Blues" by Adrian Hood. Enjoy!

Becks n' Bush
Where was I for this, and why was I not invited?! TWO smokeshows in one place? I would die. Really. To be honest, this may be one of the times I'd actually pick anyone over Becks. Reggie Bush... let me know when you and Kim break up again. I'll be available.
An Emerson College Timeline
It's as if Paste magazine chronicled and did a ten year study of the students at Emerson for ten years. Amazing.
2000"The Emo": "The proto-hipster’s white belt and guyliner make for a soulful combination."

2002 "The Ashton": His PBR trucker hat and faux vintage t-shirt reveal an obsession with “irony.”

2003 "The Scenester" : "A gaudy tattoo appears on her chest, and she is never spotted without her iPod."

2007 "The Vintage Queen" : "She shops at retro boutiques and posts Holga photos on her blog. She has said that the koi fish cover-up tattoo on her arm symbolizes “nature and love and peace and stuff.” [ed. note: call me crazy (or call me an emersonian) but i like this look. sans the koi tatt]
2008 "The Williamsburg" : "He thoughtfully hangs shutter shades in the deep-V of his white tee, and he’s often seen walking his fixed-gear bike around town while texting with his iPhone." [I'd say I saw a lot of this look, just shave down the stache a bit and add some faux ray bans, and they'd be good to go down Boylston st]
