My love is undying for the Celtics. I caught a bit of some 2010 countdown of a year in sports 'bloopers'. Here is just one gem that makes me love this team...
Ok, Scalabrine doesn't even play for the Celts anymore, but he is totally pulling a Liz Lemon in this. Keep an eye on the white guy in the beige suit who gets up from the bench...
I am on a serious new music kick right now, folks! If you can think back to November, I posted Adele's new song 'Rolling in the Deep', which i still cannot stop listening to. Her album comes out February 21st, and even though it's leaked to the US (because her album is out in the UK and the rest of Europa), I've been avoiding listening to it so I can buy it when it comes out here! Anyways, in prep for her album release in the States, I'll continue my love for Adele on my blog with a remix of 'Rolling in the Deep' ft. Childish Gambino. WHAT? YES. Childish Gambino is the alter ego of Don Glover, who plays Troy on 'Community'. He's actually really good, and you should get his album too (check out this acoustic version of his song 'Got This Money'!) He actually sampled one of Adele's songs from her '19' album in his rap album, so it's not a total surprise that he remixed this, but i still can't get over this combo pack of AWESOME!! Enjoy this jam and get Adele's album in February!
I recently acquired Bruno Mars' album, "Doo-Wops & Hooligans", and it is fantastic. But here's a song that he should probably just release as a single because it is absolutely brilliant. Katy Perry, I love you girl, but this version of 'California Gurls' is just gorgeous.
Traci's favorite movie of 2011 is... BLUE VALENTINE.
Ok, ok, I've only seen one other movie this year (Black Swan - which will forever haunt me, especially if I get a hangnail. EW!), and it's only the middle of January.
But if you've seen the trailer, then you'd think this movie was about the same thing I did. A couple who falls in love, and maybe hit a few rough patches on the way. I guess, at the core, it is a love story, but it's so much more than that. It's touching, it's comical, it's heartbreaking, but most of all, it's real. After leaving the theater, I gave it like 2.75 stars, but the more I think about it, and the dynamics of the movie, it's more like a 4.5-4.75. (Some scale I got, huh?)
Anyways, Ryan Gosling's and Michelle Williams' characters' song is a tune called 'You and Me' by Penny and the Quarters. Such a great throwback song to probs my favorite music era, the 60s/motown, and it's such a perfect fit for the film. lovelovelove.
I sure do love me some Nicki Minaj. You've probably heard her rap, but have you heard her sing? Check out this great jam from her 'Pink Friday' album, 'Save Me'.
Bonus track: 'Blazin' also off this album, featuring Kanye!
This is a REAL college paper that a student actually handed in. Apparently he spent 5 HOURS reformatting his paper just to create the 'Never Gonna Give You Up' Acrostic down the side of his essay. Friggin brilliant.
Here's an amazing video of a flash mob that took place at the Prudentential Center in my 2nd hometown of Boston. Except this flash mob turned into a wedding. A WEDDING. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PRU. amazing. amazing!
